Volunteering in THE GHOST TOWN
For an overview of all the separate projects you can help out with, please check below.
If you have any specialties in the work that needs to be done that would be great. But we also need hands with a lot of general stuff. There is always something to do in the Ghost Town!
If you want to help and volunteer on a project, we will be accepting volunteers that have there own sleeping accommodation.
-You can stay on the camper spot
-You can also use the community kitchen in the main house.
-We have a shower and a toilet facility.
If you come to volunteer, you can expect to get simple drinks like coffee thee water limonade. We dont have a Chef at this point, so we cant supply any meals yet.. Except for a friday night pizza night!
*please keep in mind that making videos is also my job and might need to attend to other work in between jobs.
THE SEASON OF WALLS
Timespan: April - June
Skills required: Carrying cement blocks / mixing cement / Cutting rebar / buidling the wall.
For this first voluntering period of this year (March till June) we have the ongoing project to build a lot of retaining walls. Anybody really can help with this.
We need walls around the Shed, walls in the garden, but modstly on 'the other land' where we need build the Big Wall of Portugal.
Olive Tree Pruning
Timespan: Half of March - Eind of March
Skills required: Stand on a ladder / clib a tree like a monkey
We need to prune ALL of our olive trees, there are about 40 Big ones.
For 2 weeks we will be pruning trees of and on. We have 3 pieces of land where they need to be pruned.
FIXING THE GATE
Our main gate (and also the secondairy gate) need some welding / painting work done
Timespan: Any time in April/May/June
Skills required: Welding
A single person job, but if you need any assistance, i am here if you need help. Also maybe i can learn some welding skils from you!
Garden work
Our garden is a complete mess at this moment and needs to be thurrowly cleaned up. See what we can save and make it managable for the upcoming year

ROOF FOR THE SHED
Timespan: April - June
Skills required: Cutting beams / Mixing cement / Buid a solid roof.
First we need to make the walls strait, then put some beams in. Build it up with cladding / insulation / battens / rooftiles.
For this project we can use 2-3 volunteers to help out. Anybody can help really, cleaning the rooftiles / mixing cement etc.
A LOT OF OTHER STUFF
There is always something to do here in The Ghost Town.
And we appriciate anybody to come and help out with anything.
